"Dive-In Discussions" invite IAIABC Members to participate in discussions on various topics impacting the workers' compensation industry. Each discussion will be preceded by a short presentation from an IAIABC community member.
Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) is rapidly improving and increasing its potential to transform the workers’ compensation industry. Enhancing operational efficiency and service delivery as well as reducing administrative burdens and improving decision-making accuracy are areas of high potential.
Join our discussion, hosted by Linea Solutions' Nate Haws and Lon Tiggelaar as they examine the evolving role of AI in workers’ compensation. This session will cover how AI-driven automation is impacting claims management, risk scoring, and compliance monitoring while addressing challenges related to data security and reliability. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of AI adoption trends and potential use cases that can shape the future of work comp administration.

Lon Tiggelaar, SVP – Insurance Practice Leader, Linea Solutions
Lon leads several of Linea’s strategic Insurance Practice accounts while also heading up Linea’s North America Insurance Practice. His responsibilities include Practice strategy, business development, and expanding Linea’s focus and presence in the public agency/union/association Benefit Administration market, Workers’ Compensation market, and the overall Insurance industry.
Lon has been in the insurance, pension, and benefits industry for over 25 years, primarily as a consultant and Practice Leader. He began his career as a corporate accounting systems analyst and programmer at a large insurance company. Lon subsequently spent nearly 20 years as a core system implementation developer, analyst, and program/project manager for a publicly-held systems integrator, where he eventually became the Public Retirement and Unemployment Insurance Practice leader. He has led large pension, benefit administration and enrollment, and workers’ compensation transformation projects, with project teams consisting of over 100 staff and subcontractors located on three continents.
Nate Haws, Associate Principal Consultant, Linea Solutions
Nate has over 20 years of experience working with public and private sector retirement plan administration. He has worked on multiple large-scale information technology and continuous improvement projects as a business analyst and project manager. Nate is currently working with California State Teachers Retirement System to implement their new system and improve business processes across the enterprise. They are working together to implement an AI chatbot knowledgebase to provide project staff with instant answers to their questions on the new system’s business rules.
Prior to joining Linea Solutions, Nate worked as an internal consultant on large Retirement Plans, Life Insurance, and Variable Annuity Fortune 100 insurance carrier. Nathan is a member of the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) and is a Six Sigma Black Belt (SSBB), a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), and a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU). Nathan is certified in process automation and business rule standard models and notations BPMN 2.0 and DMN 1.1 and is a certified expert in business process management (OCEB2).
