People would be surprised if they knew:
I lived in Siberia near the Arctic Circle and enjoyed summers where the sun never sets. Fun story – a friend and I went exploring the town and the local pig farm across town only to come back to everyone searching for a pair of 5-year-olds as it was after 1am.

What is on your bucket list and why?
Getting my black belt in judo. Having stopped training consistently after graduating college while being one promotion away from earning my black belt, it has been a long-time goal. Earning my black belt would signify not just a particular level of technical skill but also a level of commitment to the principles and values associated with the art and practice of judo. Here’s a quote from judo founder, Kanō Jigorō, that has always resonated with me and summarizes the principles behind the sport - “It is not important to be better than someone else, but to be better than yesterday.”
